Winter in HK
The view from our balcony
I haven't been here for over a year since I have been in Bangkok. Winter is particularly cold this time, only 7 to 8 degrees. I haven't experienced a winter for the longest time. It kinda feels good to sniff the cold icy air, to have freezing hands and to feel an incredible chill every time I walk out the door. I dug out my winter clothes I have not worn for almost a decade and luckily they still fit!
I met Dawn and her husband Jeroen at Tosca at Ritz Carlton on Sunday for brunch. It is a lovely place and the brunch was excellent. I stuffed myself silly on burrata and pastas and lots of lovely bread. We had a great time catching up and then headed to Ozone upstairs for a drink before leaving for Crystal Jade at IFC for some dim sum. We then went to another place for a drink but since it was Chinese New Year's eve, all the places closed at 10.45pm. I had been up since 4.30am on Sunday so it was such a long day for me. I was happy to call it a day.
It's so cold right now I am glad to be home with my music, a heater on and a cup of chai tea in my hand. I love sleeping in on cold winter days and doing nothing but sleep and read.
Today I met Winnie for lunch. I had not seen her for over 11 years and both of us still look the same.. funny how Asians don't age so much! We had met at IMD while studying for our MBA. She is a massive foodie and she told me where to go to learn how to make Chinese Cuisine and dim sum. I am going to investigate and see if I can come back for 2 weeks for it.
I am also suppose to start my intership at DB and The Moluccas Room. I don't know how I am going to fit everything in!
The Year of the Dragon is suppose to be a great year for growth and transformation for me. I hope so. I am looking forward to great changes and incredible experiences! 2011 was an awesome year so it will be amazing to top it in 2012.
Stay tuned!
