Racing
I pig out far too much for me to ever lose weight and get thin again. Alas, the only way to maintain my weight and not get bigger is to run so I make it a point to run in 10km races every few weeks. Luckily Singapore has lots of races. I can now run 10kms without feeling any pain although I now run slower than I use to. I could have finished 10kms in less than 1 hour 6 years ago but now I take around 1 hour 10 minutes. It's tough going when I get older!
Before a race, I always drink some Gatorade and lots of water a few days before to hydrate. This time I bought a couple of new things for the race, a new belt instead of using the arm band for my I Phone and a new visor. Both were great for the race because it made my head less hot and running with a belt is easier than running with an arm band.
Afterwards, we went to Choupinette for breakfast but I didn't think it was all that good. I had never been there before but this meal cost $19! I could have done a better breakfast but of course I was way too hot and way too tired to so I had to settle for this.
All my racing medals I collected so far. I like the zebra one the best from the Safari Zoo Run.
The next race is on Sunday. I am currently in Bangkok and will be running in the 10kms for the Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon. I had enrolled in it in November but the flood meant they had to cancel it so it was pushed back until this coming weekend. I have never run in Bangkok before so it will be interesting to see how it works out. I hope it is as well run and sign posted as it is in Singapore.

Here is how I look before the race with my new Harry Potter glasses.
This is what happens after a race. My face completely becomes like a tomato! This race is the 12km Safari Zoo Run last Sunday.
I ran with Roberto and his son. You can see how fat I still look. Gone are the days when I was 10kgs lighter.. My timing was 1 hour 22 minutes for 12 kms and I was ranked 188 out of 783 runners that took part in the race. I don't think it's all that bad considering I am no professional and I only run a few times a week to keep from getting fatter.
